Abstract

This article presents the educational film "Our Silence is Trauma" and examines its pedagogical utilization within the school context as a tool for approaching gender-based violence and femicide. The film addresses violence against women as a social phenomenon and a violation of human rights, aiming to bring the issue into educational practice in a well-documented, sensitive, and pedagogically responsible manner. The central learning objective is the understanding of basic concepts, the development of empathy, and the enhancement of students' critical reflection. The educational approach is based on the combined utilization of narration, imagery, music, and accompanying activities, allowing the audiovisual material to function as a starting point for dialogue and reflection. The article highlights the educational value of the film as a medium that transforms the silence surrounding gender-based violence into a pedagogical space for understanding, awareness, and a responsible attitude within the school.
