Focus and Scope

Conatus - Journal of Philosophy is the biannual philosophical publication of the NKUoA Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory; it is an international open-access peer reviewed academic journal (both print and electronic) dedicated to the dissemination of original philosophical research. The journal invites original unpublished papers within any field of Philosophy or application of Philosophical method to any areas of intellectual and practical life:

Conatus is the result of the partnership of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory and the National Documentation Center, the latter providing ePublishing, indexing and abstracting services.

Peer Review Process

Peer Review policy:

Papers submitted to Conatus - Journal of Philosophy are peer-reviewed in a double-blind evaluation process; each paper is being assessed by two referees (an Associate Editor and a member of the Editorial Board). In the case of conflicting reviewer comments the final decision rests with the Managing Editor. Anonymity is maintained between the authors and the reviewers.

Length of the review procedure

The standard length of time for the review procedure is eight weeks, beginning from the date on which the Editor acknowledges the submission of the manuscript and provides the a confirmation of receipt.

 

 

Publication Frequency

Conatus Philosophy Journal is being published twice annually.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public contributes to global knowledge exchange. We encourage authors to deposit their articles, as well as data underlying the publications, in institutional and/or other appropriate subject repositories.
