Abstract
The paper examines the impact of “social
entrepreneurship” on local development. The
cases presented below have been selected
among social enterprises in the area of
Nafpaktia. Municipalities, cooperatives,
welfare associations as well as private
investors are actively involved in the operation
of those fi rms. Besides economic returns,
the operation of such institutions is expected
to enhance employment and contribute to
the overall community development.
