Author Biography
Thomas T.H. Wan, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York

Dr. Thomas T.H. Wan, born in Shi-Kang, Republic of China,
Sept. 19, 1943, did his undergraduate work at Tunghai
University in Taiwan and received his Ph. D. in Sociology-
Demography from the University of Georgia in 1970; he
also holds a M.H.S. from the Johns Hopkins University School
of Hygiene and Public Health (1971), where he was an NIH
(National Institute of Health) postdoctoral fellow. Presently,
he is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University
of Maryland Baltimore County, and he is also a Visiting Associate
Professor of the Department of Policy Planning and
Regional Analysis at Cornell University. He has taught courses
including social epidemiology, comprehensive health planning,
medical sociology, social psychiatry, and metropolitan ecology
and demography. He is the author of numerous articles published
in the Journal of Chronic Diseases, Social Biology, Journal
of Occupational Medicine, and Journal of Health and Social
Behavior.
