About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The aim of Entomologia Hellenica is to offer a platform that enhances science via the publication of original research papers and reviews of high quality. Subject areas are all aspects of entomology and acarology, i.e. biology and ecology, chemical control, biological control, genetics, behavior, chemical ecology, in agricultural, stored product, forest, urban and natural environments, apiculture, veterinary entomology etc. It includes original papers on basic and applied research, systematics, first records, short communications and reviews.

Peer Review Process

Each article is thoroughly reviewed by two reviewers, then by the editor-in-chief and the subject editor to ensure a high quality output.

Acceptance of the manuscript

ENTOMOLOGIA HELLENICA operates in a single anonymized review process. All contributions are initially assessed by the Journal Manager (Editor-in-Chief) for suitability for the journal and plagiarism. Papers deemed suitable are then typically assigned to a Subject Editor and thereafter sent to a minimum of two independent expert external reviewers to assess scientific quality of the paper. The Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editors' decision is final. Editors are not involved in decisions about papers which they have written themselves or have been written by family members or colleagues or which relate to products or services in which the editor has an interest. Any such submission is subject to all of the journal's usual procedures, with peer review handled independently of the relevant editor and their research groups.

ENTOMOLOGIA HELLENICA does not guarantee manuscript acceptance or very short peer review process.

Publication Frequency

ENTOMOLOGIA HELLENICA publishes 1 volume with two issues per year, No1 in May and No2 in November. Articles will be published as soon as they are ready, by adding them to the "current" volume's Table of Contents. Later, articles will be included collectively, as part of a new issue with its own Table of Contents.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
