First Record of Delia florilega (Zetterstedt, 1845) (Diptera: Anthomyiidae) in Rice Fields of Demak, Indonesia
Abstract
This study documents the first recorded occurrence of Delia florilega (Zetterstedt, 1845), a fly species belonging to the Anthomyiidae family, in rice fields in Demak Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. Adult specimens were collected from paddy fields in July 2025 and identified by careful morphological comparisons with established taxonomic keys. This finding suggests the possible occurrence of D. florilega in tropical rice agroecosystems and highlights the need for further monitoring within local rice pest surveillance and integrated pest management frameworks.
