Focus and Scope

Epistēmēs Metron Logos focuses on significant methodological and philosophical topics concerning the structure and the growth of science. It serves as a forum for exchange of views and ideas, even controversial ones, among working scientists and theorists of science, promoting interdisciplinary cooperation.
Epistēmēs Metron Logos publishes groundbreaking works that can deepen understanding of the concepts and methods of both episteme and the sciences; the editors believe that the central foundational questions of contemporary science can be posed and answered without recourse to sociological or historical methods.
Scope:
- Epistemology,
- Philosophy of science, foundations and methodology of science in general and of natural and human sciences such as physics, biology, psychology, linguistics, economics, social sciences in particular,
- Philosophy of mathematics
- Logic, philosophy of logic, and all kinds of philosophical logics,
- Philosophy of language,
- Ontology, metaphysics, aesthetics
- Philosophical psychology, philosophy of mind, neurophilosophy,
- Practical philosophy, i.e. ethics, philosophy of action, philosophy of law, etc.
We expect submissions from scholars whose background and philosophical orientation varies considerably; from young philosophers at the PhD level up to established academic philosophers and highly renowned senior scholars. The editors welcome articles from every part of the world.

Peer Review Process

Peer Review policy:

Papers submitted to EML are peer-reviewed in a double-blind evaluation process; each paper is being assessed by two referees (an Associate Editor and a member of the Editorial Board). In the case of conflicting reviewer comments the final decision rests with the Managing Editor. Anonymity is maintained between the authors and the reviewers.

Authors will be notified about the acceptance of their submitted manuscripts four weeks after their initial submission, along with receiving comments and instructions from the reviewers.

 

Publication Frequency

The journal will be issued two times per year, each January and July.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
