Abstract

This study aims to initiate a scientific dialogue on the recognition of Pastoral Psychology as an autonomous branch of Psychology, based on contemporary theoretical and research data. A well-documented reform framework is proposed, aligned with practical needs and international developments in the field. Through historical overview, theoretical grounding, and examples of application, the interdisciplinary identity, educational structure, and therapeutic contribution of Pastoral Psychology are substantiated. Particular emphasis is placed on its unique cultural necessity in societies where spirituality constitutes an active existential foundation. Pastoral Psychology emerges as a fully developed scientific proposal, capable of linking psychological suffering with the existential and spiritual depth of the human person, offering a holistic, culturally sensitive, and therapeutically effective approach within the modern field of Psychology.
