Abstract

The rise of far-right politics and ideology at both European and global level poses new questions and challenges for feminist criminology. This article explores how feminist criminology, drawing from its theoretical tradition and utilising concepts such as gender, patriarchy, intersectionality, and masculinity, interprets and resists the intensification of gendered authoritarianism that accompanies far-right rhetoric and practices. It also analyses the ways in which far-right ideology instrumentalises gender relations and rights, and how feminist criminological approaches offer critical tools for understanding and intervention. The article emphasises that feminist criminology constitutes a crucial means of resistance against neoconservative and authoritarian policies that undermine rights and reproduce gender inequalities and violence.
