ΒΥΖΑΝΤΙΝΑ SΥΜΜΕΙΚΤΑ is the journal of the Section of Byzantine Research (SBR) of the  Institute of Historical Research (IHR) of the Hellenic National Research Foundation (HNRF), which appeared as SYMMEIKTA in 1966 (17 volumes edited until 2005). The focus of ΣΥΜΜΕΙΚΤΑ was mostly on Byzantine history, literature and archival research. Since 2007, the journal continues as BYZANTINA SYMMEIKTA, the primary publication medium for research carried out at the Section of Byzantine Research of the unified (since 2012) Institute of Historical Research, either by its own research staff or by external collaborators. Publications of the international scholarly community engaged in Byzantine Studies are also always welcome.
