Abstract

This article is about one of the most important actions of Resistance in Corfu during WW II; the rescue of ten American airmen who landed in Corfu. In this rescue took part both of the main resistance organizations, despite their rivalry. However, this incident was for many years “buried” and absent from public memory. In my article, I will try to explain the reasons for that and in which way many years later this action was highlighted. Thus the description of the incidents will be connected with affairs concerning memory of the past and public history.
