Author Biography
Yannis Stamos, University of Amsterdam

Yannis Stamos received his PhD from the School of History and Cultures at the University of Birmingham in 2019, examining the political dimensions of literary criticism during the Metaxas dictatorship in Greece. He was a Hannah Seeger Davis Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Princeton University (2020–2022) and held the Marilena Laskaridis Visiting Research Fellowship at the University of Amsterdam (2023). His work explores the relationships between media, culture, ideology, and politics in the first half of the 20th century, focusing on fascism and nationalism. He has worked on projects studying Greek literary criticism in the interwar years and radio propaganda during the Axis Occupation. Currently, he is collaborating with Dr Alex Feldman on a book project investigating the global history of zero-sum thought and its influence on political and economic ideologies and praxis across different regions and periods.
