Η σύνθεση σε ιδιώματα της Φθιώτιδας
Περίληψη
This paper offers a description and analysis of the morphological process of compounding of the dialectal varieties spoken in the regional unit of Phthiotis, (Central Greece). Our study focuses on a wide range of topics related to compounding, such as the grammatical categories of the compounds and their constituents, exocentricity, structural patterns, the degree of semantic transparency and the grammatical relation of the constituents. The findings of our research derive mainly from seven manuscripts with transcription of continuous speech (deposited by G. Tsouknidas at the Archive of Manuscripts of the Research Center for Modern Greek Dialects - Historical Dictionary of Modern Greek of the Academy of Athens). For our analysis, we adopt the theoretical model of Ralli [2005] 2022, 2008, 2013, which has proved fruitful in providing a satisfactory analysis of the compounding process in Standard Modern Greek and its dialects (see, e.g. Andreou 2014, Chairetakis & Ralli 2022, Ralli & Chairetakis to appear).
