As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text uses a 12-point New Times Roman font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
Manuscripts should be written in Times New Roman (12pt.) and references should follow the APA style (7th Edition). The journal's language is English. The spelling can be either in British or American English, providing that it is consistent throughout.
The journal publishes the following types of articles. All submissions (Research Articles, Review Articles, Commentaries) are peer-reviewed:
Research Articles: Research Articles are Papers that communicate the results of a research that adds innovative and significant knowledge. Submissions should not exceed 8.000 words. Longer submissions may be desk-rejected.
Review Articles: A Review Article organizes, clarifies and summarizes existing major works, and provides comprehensive citations to a full spectrum of relevant literature. Submissions should not exceed 8.000 words. Longer submissions may be desk-rejected.
Commentaries: Commentaries are short papers (max. 2.500 words) discussing preliminary results or specific topical issues.
Submissions and Editorial Process
To submit a manuscript, authors should create an account and proceed with the submission online. For any issues, authors can contact the journal administrators at npse@hapsc.org. The submitted files must contain the following:
1) The manuscript in word format.
2) A short bio for each Author (max. 300 words) and the ORCID number for each Author. If you do not have an ORCID number, you can create an account here for free.
We strive to come to a decision in each submission as fast as possible, but not on the expense of rigorous peer review. We aim to have a first decision - of whether the submission meets the standards to go to reviewers - within a week. If the first decision is positive, we ask the reviewers to complete the review within 3-4 weeks. When a paper is accepted (as it was submitted, or after ther required revisions have been completed) it is published online, fully citable, within a week.
Anonymisation
All articles undergo a double-blind peer review process. Therefore, the manuscript and all supplemental material that is subject to a peer-review must be anonymized.
To ensure anonymization, omit all directly identifying information (e.g. project identifiers). Whenever possible, references to your own works should stay visible in the text but it must be ensured that the wording does not explicitly link these references to the authors of the manuscript
Plagiarism Detection Policy
Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) is not allowed. Please note that this journal uses the Turnitin software to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts.
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under Creative Commons 4.0 (CC-BY 4.0) license, that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
