Author Biography
Hariklia Symeonidou-Alatopoulou, London school of Economics

Hariklia Symeonidou-Alatopoulou was born in Patras 1949. She is a graduate of the Athens School of Economics and Business Science 1972. She holds a Master of Science in Demography from the London School of Economics and Political Science 1973. Her Master's thesis under 'the supervision of Professor D.V. Glass was on Fertility Trends in Greece. She has attended LSE seminars on Methods οf Social Investigations and Applied statistics in Sociology. At other international seminars and congresses, she has prepared research work on subjects of Demography with special reference to Fertility and Demographic problems and their socioeconomic consequences. During 1976-77 she was a regular visiting lecturer at the Greek Productivity Center. She has been responsible for the presentation οf Demographic Trends and Greece's future demographic problems, in special seminars prepared for the Greek Ministry of Agriculture. She has published several seminars prepared for the Greek Ministry οf Agriculture. She has published several articles in scientific magazines and she was co-researcher for the Encyclopaedia οί Economics. Since 1974 she has been working as a Research Associate with the National Centre of Social Research of Greece, in the field of Demography.
