Author Biography
Margaret A. Stott, National Museum of Man, Canada

Miss Stott was born in Canada in 1945, and received an
Honours B. A. from the University of British Columbia in
1966, and a Masters Degree in Anthropology from McGill
University in 1969. She is currently employed by the National
Museum of Man in Ottawa, Canada, where she coordinates
exhibitions of archaeological and ethnological content.
While familiar with many North American cultural groups,
Miss Stott has conducted research in two quite distinct culture
areas, the Northwest Coast of North America and theMediterranean.
Her thesis, Bella Coola Ceremony and Art, is soon
to be published by the National Museum of Man. She is currently
engaged in research concerned with Mediterranean society
and culture, and social change, and plans to undertake
study in preparation for her doctorate in these areas.
