Abstract

This paper follows a post-doc research that took place between 2016-2018. It presents quality findings on the recording and the concert sector in Athens, as operating in the economic crisis, combined with quantity data from a parallel on-line research on music consumption. Based on these, the paper establishes its key point regarding the formation of a developmental policy agenda for music production in Greece at the times of recession that needs to be structured around the premise of a cultural ecosystem rather a creative industry discourse.
