Author Biography
Yannis M. Ioannides, Brown University U.S.A.

Yannis M. Ioannides was born in Kyparissia in 1945. He obtained
a Dipl. Eng. in electrical engineering from the National
Technical University, Athens, in 1968. He then pursued postgraduate
studies in economics and engineering-economic
systems at Stanford University, Stanford, California receiving
the degrees of M.S. in 1970 and Ph. D. in 1973. His
doctoral dissertation is entitled Equilibrium Adjustment Processes:
The Housing Market Case. He has taught economics
and public administration at the University of California,
Riverside, and currently he is Assistant Professor of Economics
at Brown University where he teaches courses on public
finance, environmental economics, and comparative economic
systems. His current research interests are in human resources
and economic development, in microeconomic foundations
of employment and inflation theory, and in the economics
of workers’ control.
