Author Biography
Lincoln H. Day

Born in Iowa, USA, Jan. 7, 1928.
Dr. Lincoln H. Day was born in the state of Iowa, USA,
and spent his boyhood in the state of Colorado, USÄ. Since
August 1973, he has been Senior Fellow in the Department
of Demography, Institute of Advanced Studies, the Australian
National University, Canberra. Previously, he served on the
faculties of Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut; Columbia
University, New York, N.Y.; Princeton University,
Princeton, New Jersey; and Mount Holyoke College, South
Hadley, Mass. During this time he was on two occasions Visiting
Fellow in Demography, The Australian National University;
the second time as a Fulbright Fellow. He has a B.A.
degree from Yale University, and M.A. and Ph. D. degrees
in sociology from Columbia University.
He is the author of numerous papers and more than two
dozen research articles published in American, British, and
Australian journals and also a co-author of the following
books: Too Many Americans (with Alice Taylor Day), 1964;
Disabled Workers in the Labor Market (with A. J. Jaffe
and Walter Adams), 1964; Family Size and Society (with
Alice Taylor Day), 1972.
