Author Biography
Myrto Dragona-Monachou

Myrto Dragona-Monachou was born in Calamata in 1935. She
graduated from the University of Athens and with a state
scholarship she studied at the University of London, from which
she received her Ph. D. thesis in Hellenistic Philosophy in 1973.
Her thesis, The Stoic Arguments for the Existence and the
Providence of God was published in 1976 by the University of
Athens. She has published many articles on Presocratic,
Aristotelian and Stoic Philosophy as well as in modern philosophy
and contemporary ethical theory. Her more recent works deal with
G.E. Moore, R. Hare, L. Wittgenstein, etc. After having taught for
some years in' secondary educatipn, she h^g been since 1973
research member of the Research Center for Greek Philosophy at
the Academy of Athens and lecturer since 1978 at the University
of Crete. She has ^Jso taught philosophy at the cultural circles of
YWCA and the Center for Philosophical Research. She is a
member of the Administrative Committee of the Greek
Philosophical Society and has participated in many international
and local congresses.
