Author Biography
Theodore Papadopoullos, Cyprus Research Centre

Theodore Papadopoullos is the Director of the Cyprus Research
Centre, Nicosia. He studied Classical Greek and French
Literature at London University and did postgraduate work
in Mediaeval and Modern Greek Literature and History in
the same University. After following postgraduate courses in
Ethnology at the University of Paris he lived for many years
in Tropical Africa, where he learned Bantu languages apd did
research in African ethnohistory. He is a member of several
learned Societies and Committees, and is currently editor of
the Annual of the Cyprus Research Centre and heading the
project of Texts and Studies of the History of Cyprus.
His works include: Bibliotheca Graeca Aevi Posteriori
(vol. I, 1952), Poésie dynastique du Ruanda et Epopée akritique
(1963), Africanobyzantina. Byzantine Influences on
N egro-Sudanese Cultures (1965), La méthode des sciences
sociales dans la recherche historique (1970). He is interested
in the comparative study of Greek intellectual tradition and
the theory and methodology of human sciences.
