Author Biography
Andreas A. Andrikopoulos, University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Born in Vachila-Gortinias. Graduated from the Athens School of
Economics and Business Science, and received an M.A. in
economics from Wayne State University with a study on Dynamic
Changes in Greek Manufacturing: A Time-Space Analysis, and a
Ph.D. degree in economics from the University of Southern
California with a dissertation on The Determinants of Growth Diffe­
rentials and Regional Concentration: A Theoretical and Empirical
Investigation. Taught economics (at both graduate and under­
graduate level) at the University of Southern California (Los
Angeles), California State University (Long Beach, California),
University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada), and, cur­
rently teaching at the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada).
Acted as a research consultant for the Urban Institute (Washington,
D.C.) on the Urban Economic Development and Growth Policy
project and for the Transportation Centre (British Columbia,
Canada) on the Northern Highways Study. Received the "Thomas
Nixon Carver Award”, many fellowships, and nominated for the
"Phi Beta Cappa” award. Written several articles in the fields of
regional economics, monetary economics, and econemetrics. Pre­
sented a number of papers in national and international profes­
sional conferences.
