Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The Article is an original work, it has not been published previously, nor is it under consideration for publication elsewhere, either in print or in electronic form.
  • To the best of my knowledge the Article does not defame any person, does not invade the privacy of any person, and does not in any other manner infringe upon the rights of any person.
  • The Article does not in any way violate intellectual property rights of third parties. Wherever permission is required, I have obtained it from the copyright holder
  • I have read and I accept the Copyright Policy and have prepared the manuscript according to the Author Guidelines of the Journal.

Author Guidelines

The policy brief should be written in Times New Roman 12, line spacing 1.5. Use the available template. Also, you should follow the APA reference style with minor modifications (see the template for more information). The policy brief should:

✔ be around 2.500 words.

✔ include the name and the affiliation(s) of the author(s).

✔ Include up to 10 Keywords.

Your submission should consist of two word documents:

  1. The Policy Brief (according to the available template).
  2. A short bio (about 300 words max). Google Scholar Profile and ORCID number should be included for each author, if available.

The word file of your policy brief should be titled as “nameofauthor_hapscpolicybriefs2021.docx”.

Submission and Review Process

The authors submit their policy briefs to the email: with an email subject: "Submission at HAPSc's Policy Briefs Series". Once the submission has been assessed for suitability by the editor-in-chief (or an associate editor-in chief), it will then be double blind peer reviewed by independent, anonymous expert referees. All manuscripts whose format does not follow the guidelines indicated above will be rejected without further consideration. To limit reviewer bias, submissions are anonymized before being sent out for review. The Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts. The Editors’ decisions are final.

The evaluation will be based on the following criteria:

⮚ the choice of the topic

⮚ the contribution to the existing knowledge

⮚ the recommendations and policy relevance and their feasibility

⮚ the quality of writing

Plagiarism Detection Policy

Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) is not allowed. Please note that this journal uses the Turnitin software to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts.

We advise the prospective authors to read carefully the Publication Ethics and Malpractise Statement.
