New SERIES for collective articles

Series  “New records of marine biodiversity in the Mediterranean Sea (month/year)”: This series publishes new records of introduced marine species in the Mediterranean Sea, including alien, cryptogenic, crypto-expanding species, as well as species with uncertain status. It also includes updates on the spatial distribution of already established species of particular interest, such as first records for a country, ecoregion, MSFD area, or GFCM Geographical Subarea (GSA). Exceptional findings of rarely reported species – including first-ever records for individual countries or for the Mediterranean Sea, as well as new rare records from understudied habitats – are also welcomed. This series of collective articles refers to contributions from a maximum of TWO authors. A maximum of THREE authors can be considered in special cases.

Submissions must include photographs of the species and the geographic coordinates (in decimal degrees) of the observation sites. For contributions referring to photographs taken from social media and citizen science platforms, authors should provide proofs that the information/photo provider has been contacted and granted permission.
