Author Biography
Stefanos Dimitriou, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences

Stefanos Dimitriou was born in 1968 in Athens. He studied philosophy at the University of Ioannina was awarded a PhD by the University of Paris VIII for his thesis in political philosophy entitled Le conflit de la modernité: Formes et limites de la critique postmoderne de la raison (Villeneuve-d’Ascq: Presses Universitaires du Septentrion, 2001) completed under the supervision of Jacques Poulain (1998). He was appointed Associate Professor of Political Philosophy at the Department of Political Science and History, Social and Political Theory Faculty of Panteion University in 2018. His research and teaching interests are focused on modern, contemporary, as well as ancient Greek political philosophy. His publications include Ελευθερία και κυριαρχία: Πολιτική ελευθερία και κυριαρχία στο τρίτο βιβλίο των «Πολιτικών» του Αριστοτέλη [Liberty and sovereignty: political liberty and sovereignty in the third book of Aristotles’ “Politics”] (Athens: Polis, 2016) and Η πολιτική στον «Πολιτικό» του Πλάτωνα [Politics in Plato’s “Statesman”] (Athens: Cultural Fondation of National Bank of Greece, 2016).
