Dimitris Stamatopoulos, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki

Dimitris Stamatopoulos is Professor of Balkan and Late Ottoman History at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki. He has authored many books and articles on the history of the Orthodox Christian populations in the Ottoman Empire. A revised version of his book Το Βυζάντιο μετά το έθνος: Το πρόβλημα της συνέχειας στις βαλκανικές ιστοριογραφίες (Athens: Alexandria, 2009) will be published in English by Central European University Press as Byzantium after the Nation: The Problem of Continuity in Balkan Historiographies (forthcoming). He has edited also the following edited volumes: Imagined Empires: Constructing Ethnic Nationalism in Eastern and Southeastern Europe (Budapest: CEU Press, forthcoming); European Revolutions and the Ottoman Balkans: War, Nationalism and Empire from Napoleon to the Bolsheviks (London: I.B.
