Author Biography
Alexandros Lamprou, Philipps University Marburg

Alexandros Lamprou has studied history with emphasis on the history of the Middle East and Turkey. He holds a PhD in Turkish history from Leiden University (2009). He has taught the history in universities in Greece, Turkey, and Germany. His research interests and published work include state–society relations, social engineering projects, and population displacement. He has published a book with I.B. Tauris on the reception of the Kemalist reforms in interwar Turkey and edited a volume on population displacement from Greece to the Middle East during World War II. His work has also appeared in Middle Eastern Studies, British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, Turkish Studies, and Turkish Historical Review.
