Abstract

This article addresses the question of the strategic use of Aristotle's political thought from Marsilius of Padua. In particular, we examine the convergences and divergences of the Marsilian genealogy of political communities from the corresponding Aristotelian methodology. We also try to associate the departure of Marsilius from Aristotle with some of the innovations he introduces to the political thought of his time, especially regarding the question of the creation of political society , governance and policies communities. Thus we make a comparative analysis of other important Aristotelian political thinkers of the late Middle Ages.
