The critique of Panayiotis Kondylis to Habermas' theory of communication

Νικόλαος Τσίρος
Abstract

This article presents a critique of Panagiotis Kondylis on the theory of communicative action by Jürgen Habermas. This critique refers on one hand to the epistemology and on the other hand to the content of the German philosopher’s theory. Specific points are underlined which make the Habermasian arguments vulnerable due to the absence of anthropological assumptions.
In addition, the descriptive theory of decision by Kondylis and his “socionto- logy” as an attempt of explanation of social relationships are sketched. Consequently, the theoretical advantages and disadvantages of the analyses of both thinkers are pointed out.
