«New politics» parties, political and cultural dimension

Abstract
One of the most changes in the western political culture during the late 70s and the 80s was the so-called «new politics». This is a highly complex phenomenon whose main explanation les on the emergence of post-materialist political orientations and on a set of permissive political opportunity structure. These two factors gave rise to the «new politics» parties, namely to the Green parties all over the industrialized world. Nevertheless, not all Green parties are alike. There are significant differences as far as their political tradition, their program and their inner organization is concerned. These differences make for the construction of a typology which facilitate future comparative research on the subject matter.
