Motivated by a mural painting of the Manoussis mansion at Siatista
Abstract
The author of this article is trying to look for the original works of art, which influenced the anonymous painter of an ornamental panel in the Manoussis mansion at Siatista, a work of the late 18th C. The way the European engravings during the 18th C, were spread throughout the European coun tries, may justify the fact that the two creators of this painting—artist and client—have introduced ornamental motives borrowed directly from the
western contemporary art.
