Dr Sofoklis Sotiriou, Ellinogermaniki Agogi, Greece

Dr. Sofoklis Sotiriou holds a PhD in High Energy Astrophysics (University of Athens, Greece) and a PhD in the Use of Advanced Technologies in Science Education (University of Bayreuth, Germany). He has worked at CERN (1992-1996), at the National Center for Scientific Research "DEMOKRITOS" in Athens and in the Physics Laboratory of Athens University (1996-1998). He is the Head of R&D Department of Ellinogermaniki Agogi (since 1998), one of the biggest schools in Greece, where has been active in the coordination and development of research projects on implementation of advanced technologies (e.g., mobile applications, wearable computers, VR and AR applications, robotics, AI) in science education and training. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences (since 2003), member of the board of ECSITE (2004-2007) and has served as Expert Evaluator to the European Commission FP5 & FP6 Programmes.
