Author Biography
A.C. Kazepides, Simon Fraser University, Canada and National Centre of Social Research

A. C. Kazepides is an associate professor of Philosophy of Education
at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby 2, B. C. Canada.
He did his undergraduate work in Greece and his graduate
work (Masters and Doctorate) at Temple University, Philadelphia,
USA. He taught at Temple University, the University
of Illinois and the University of Alberta before going to Simon
Fraser in 1968. He has published several essays in educational
journals and contributes regularly to the proceedings of the
Philosophy of Education Society. He is a member of the Philosophy
of Education Society of Great Britain, the Philosophy of
Education Society (USA and Canada), the Northwestern Philosophy
of Education Society and the Philosophy of Science Association.
He is currently associated with the National Centre
of Social Research and is writing a book entitled The Autonomy
of Education. With minor alterations, the article published
in this issue is part of that book.
