Author Biographies
Paschalis M. Kitromilides, Harvard University

Paschalis M. Kitromilides a graduate of the Pancyprian Gymnasium
(1968), has received his B.A. from Wesleyan University
and his M.A. from Harvard University. He is a Ph.D. candidate
and Teaching Fellow in the Department of Government
at Harvard University. Currently he is doing research in Greece
on a Frederick Sheldon Traveling Fellowship from the President
and Fellows of Harvard University. His research interests
focus on the politics and history of Cyprus, Greek-Turkish
relations and the history of Asia Minor hellenism, the
Neohellenic Enlightenment and modern Greek nationalism. He
has contributed papers and book reviews in scholarly journals
such as Kypriakai Spoudai, Micrasiatica Chronica and The
American Political Science Review. His latest publication is
«Cyprus: The Nature of Ethnic Conflict», in Th. Couloumbis
and S. Hicks, eds., US Foreign Policy toward Greece and Cyprus,
The Center for Mediterranean Studies, Washington, D.C.,
1975.

Theodore A. Couloumbis, The American University

Theodore A. Couloumbis is Professor of International Relations
at the School of International Service, The American University,
Washington, D.C. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees
at the University of Connecticut and his Ph. D. at The
American University. He is the author of Greek Political Reaction
to American and NATO Influences (New Haven and London:
Yale University Press, 1966) and his articles have appeared
in Polity, East European Quarterly, World Affairs, New
Leader and Kathimerini. He is a member of the Executive Committee
of the Modern Greek Studies Association.
