Robert D. Picker, California State University, San Francisco

Robert D. Picker is a Professor of Geography at California
State University, San Francisco. He holds Bachelors and
Masters degrees from Columbia University and a Ph. D. from
the University of Washington (1962). Previously to teaching
at San Francisco he taught at the College of Wooster and the
University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. His research has focused
on spatial ecology, and energetics within industrial societies.
He is currently carrying two research projects, one involving
regional patterns of electric power production within
the Soviet Union, and the second examining spatial imagery
of geographic concepts. He is Associate Dean for Planning
and Innovative Programs for the School of Behavioral and
Social Sciences at California State University, San Francisco.
