Adam Podgorecki, University of Warsaw

Adam Podgôrecki, born in Krakow, Poland, Dec. 16, 1925,
studied at Jagiellonian University, Kraków. Presently is Professor
of Sociology in the University of Warsaw. He has been
Visiting Professor at Northwestern University (1967) and at
the University of Pennsylvania (1972), and was Fellow of All
Souls College, Oxford (1971) and at the Center for Advanced
Study in the Behavioral Sciences, Stanford, California (1973).
Professor Podgôrecki is a co-founder of the Research Committee
of Sociology of Law (established in 1962), and of the Research
Committee of Sociotechnics (established in 1971) at the
International Sociological Association. He is the author of:
Law and Society, Routledge, Kegan Paul, London, 1974, Practical
Social Sciences, Routledge, Kegan Paul, London, 1975,
and several books in Polish.
