Nursing Ethical Responsibility: Methods of making ethical decisions
Abstract
This article examines the critical role of ethical responsibility in nursing practice, focusing on both theoretical foundations and practical applications in clinical settings. The author argues that nurses face daily ethical dilemmas and conflicts that require a robust understanding of moral behavior standards to ensure rational decision-making. The paper explores the definition of nursing ethics, the timing and nature of assuming responsibility, and the various methodologies used to navigate ethical challenges. By analyzing established models of ethical decision-making, the study highlights how these frameworks support nurses in providing high-quality care while maintaining professional integrity and protecting patient rights.
