Περίληψη

Η εξόρυξη του βωξίτη και τα λατομεία αδρανών υλικών, στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του "Εθνικού Δρυμού Οίτης", αποτέλεσαν σε συνδυασμό με τις δασικές πυρκαγιές, την παράνομη υλοτομία, τη βόσκηση και την ανεξέλεγκτη διάθεση των απορριμμάτων, τις σημαντικότερες από τις πιέσεις στα φυσικά της οικοσυστήματα. Ιδιαίτερα, η εκμετάλλευση των κοιτασμάτων βωξίτη, που παρουσίασε έξαρση κατά τη ΙΟετία του '70, υλοποιήθηκε, χωρίς σχεδιασμό και προκάλεσε αλλοιώσεις στο φυσικό περιβάλλον της περιοχής, κυρίως με τις εναλλασσόμενες, εκσκαφές, τα μέτωπα σηράγγων (στοών) και τις εκτεταμένες εναποθέσεις "στείρων" υλικών και έχουν οδηγήσει στην κατάληψη ή την αποψίλωση τμημάτων δασών και δασικών εκτάσεων, στη διακοπή της φυσικής συνέχειας του γήινου ανάγλυφου και στην αλλαγή των φυσικών γεωμορφολογικών διεργασιών. Το αντικείμενο της εργασίας αυτής, αφορά στον προσδιορισμό των επιπτώσεων που έχει υποστεί το φυσικό περιβάλλον και ειδικότερα οι γεωμορφές και οι γεωμορφολογικές διεργασίες, από την εκμετάλλευση των κοιτασμάτων βωξίτη και από την λατομική δραστηριότητα, που αναπτύχθηκε στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του "Εθνικού Δρυμού Οίτης".
