Abstract
After a brief introductive review of the chronic eosinophilic myositis in cattle the authors describe a case of the disease observed, for the first time, in Greece in the town Larissa (Thessaha). The gross lesions on the skeletal muscles and mainly the typical hiStopathological findings of the disease strongly suggested an eosinophilic myositis. The lesions in the skeletal muscles and in muscular region of the diaphragma were the presence, in large quantités, granulation tissue consisting of fibroblasts and young connective tissue extending between the muscles fibres, which are atrophic and subsequently disappear, plasma cells, lymphocytic elements and the most important eosinophil leucocytes, the presence of them balanced oetween 50 - 55 %. No lesions observed in myocardium. The presence in large quantités of granulation tissue indicates that this lind of the disease suggest a granulocytic leukemia.
