Abstract
This paper discusses a heavy outbreak of Caprine Listeriosis (encephalitic type) among the goats of the mountainous and rocky district of Paramythia of Epirus, from 1967 to 1972. During these years 45 herds have been affected and in 14.530 heads 800 died (5,6%). It is interesting to note that the disease killed only goats and did not spread to the sheep flocks which live among them in the same area.
