Περίληψη
Στην παρούσα βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση αναλύεται η ατελής διαστολή του τραχήλου στα μικρά μηρυκαστικά. Στο πρώτο μέρος του άρθρου παρουσιάζεται εν συντομία η ενδοκρινολογία του φυσιολογικού τοκετού, καθώς και η βιβλιογραφία που αφορά στην έναρξη των συσπάσεων του μυομητρίου και τα στάδια του τοκετού. Στην συνέχεια, αναφέρονται παράγοντες, οι οποίοι έχουν συσχετιστεί με την παθολογική αυτή κατάσταση και παρουσιάζεται η βιβλιογραφία η σχετική με την παθογένεια της κατάστασης. Επίσης, παρουσιάζεται η βιβλιογραφία η σχετική με τη σημασία της ατελούς διαστολής του τραχήλου ως αίτιου δυστοκίας και περιγράφεται η αντιμετώπιση της κατάστασης.
