The Vaginal prolapse in ewes A critical review of the literature and description of the disease status in Greece

Abstract

Η δημοσίευση αποτελεί κριτική ανασκόπηση της πρόπτωσης κόλπου στις προβατίνες. Περιγράφεται η παθοφυσιολογία, τα προδιαθέτοντα αίτια, η κλινική εικόνα, η θεραπεία και η πρόληψη της παθολογικής αυτής κατάστασης. Επίσης, παρουσιάζεται ένα συνοπτικό πλαίσιο της επιδημιολογικής εικόνας της νόσου στην Ελλάδα, σύμφωνα με τα στοιχεία της Παθολογικής Κλινικής του Τμήματος Κτηνιατρικής, Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας. Τα στοιχεία δείχνουν ότι η πρόπτωση κόλπου είναι μια σπάνια πάθηση στην ελληνική προβατοτροφία. Τέλος, επισημαίνεται ο σημαντικός ρόλος των υπερυψωμένων ταϊστρών και της χρήσης χοριακής γοναδοτροπίνης στην πρόκληση πρόπτωσης κόλπου στις σύγχρονες εκτροφές προβάτων.
