Mos Historicus: A Critical Review of European History is a scholarly journal published under the auspices of the Department of History and Archaeology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). It is published annually in digital form through the ePublishing platform of the National Documentation Centre (EKT).

The journal operates on a Diamond Open Access model: all published content is freely accessible, and no submission or publication fees are charged. Each submission is first assessed by the Editorial Committee for its relevance to the journal’s scope and compliance with its editorial requirements. Manuscripts that pass this initial screening are then subject to double-blind peer review by independent expert reviewers. Publication is contingent upon the successful completion of the review process and upon the manuscript meeting the scholarly and editorial standards of Mos Historicus.

Each issue includes both articles that fall within a thematic focus determined by the Editorial Committee and articles submitted independently of that theme, provided that they fall within the journal’s scholarly scope. Non-thematic submissions are accepted throughout the year, with no fixed deadline, through the Mos Historicus Academic Vault.

Mos Historicus aims to advance research and scholarly dialogue in the field of European history, to promote original research and historiographical approaches, and to provide an open forum for the publication and exchange of scholarly knowledge. It also seeks to strengthen the visibility and circulation of research on European history within both the Greek and the international academic communities.
