Author Biography
Paschalis Nikolaou, Assistant Professor in Literary Translation, Ionian University
Paschalis Nikolaou is Assistant Professor in Literary Translation at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University. Essays have appeared in several edited volumes, most recently in the Critical Reader for Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida (Bloomsbury, 2019), and in Translating the Literatures of Small European Nations (Liverpool UP, 2019). He is also the reviews editor of the translation journal mTm. With Maria-Venetia Kyritsi, he co-edited Translating Selves: Experience and Identity Between Languages and Literatures (Continuum, 2008), and with Richard Berengarten, The Perfect Order: Selected Poems 1974-2010 by Nasos Vayenas (Anvil Press Poetry, 2010)—a volume shorlisted for the Criticos Prize. His study, The Return of Pytheas: Scenes from British and Greek Poetry in Dialogue was published by Shearsman in 2017 and an edited volume, Encounters in Greek and Irish Literature: Creativity, Translations, and Critical Perspectives is forthcoming in 2020.
