Author Biography
Laura Jansen, Senior Lecturer, University of Bristol
Laura Jansen is Senior Lecturer in Classics and Comparative Literature at the University of Bristol and author of Borges’ Classics: Global Encounters with the Graeco-Roman World (Cambridge UP, 2018). She is recipient of a Leverhulme Research Fellowship, and has also been a Visiting Fellow at Princeton (2015-2016) and Visiting Scholar at the Center for Hellenic Studies, Harvard, in 2016 and 2019. She is the editor of The Roman Paratext: Frame, Texts, Readers (Cambridge UP, 2014), and a general editor of the Bloomsbury monograph series, Classical Receptions in Twentieth-Century Writing. Currently, she is working on a monograph entitled Classics Between Science and Literature: Italo Calvino, as well as editing the volume Anne Carson/Antiquity—which includes an interview with the poet herself, beyond creative and critical essays by poets, translators, practitioners, editors and scholars.
