Γυναίκες και φύλο στην πρωτοβάθμια φροντίδα υγείας
Περίληψη
Σε αυτό το άρθρο, παρουσιάζονται ορισμένες έμφυλες διαστάσεις της πρωτοβάθμιας φροντίδας υγείας. ∆ίνεται έμφαση στη συσχέτιση του φύλου με την οικονομική θέση, την ηλικία, την αναπηρία και άλλους παράγοντες που επιβαρύνουν την πρόσβαση των πολιτών στις υπηρεσίες υγείας. Οι γυναίκες, οι φτωχότερες, με τη βασική εκπαίδευση, οι μητέρες, υπό το καθεστώς μετανάστευσης ή προσφυγιάς, οι μεγαλύτερες σε ηλικία, είναι τα άτομα που βιώνουν τις περισσότερες ανικανοποίητες ανάγκες και τα αντίστοιχα εμπόδια στη διαδικασία αναζήτησης πρωτοβάθμιας υγειονομικής φροντίδας. Η ύπαρξη ποιοτικών δομών πρωτοβάθμιας φροντίδας υγείας μπορεί να έχει σημαντικά και μακροπρόθεσμα οφέλη, εφόσον υποστηρίζονται και διευρύνονται ώστε να ανταποκριθούν στις ανάγκες όλων των πολιτών, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των αναγκών των γυναικών και των πολλαπλών κοινωνικών ρόλων τους.
