Γυναίκες και φύλο στην πρωτοβάθμια φροντίδα υγείας
Abstract
This article presents certain gender dimensions of primary health care, highlighting the combination of gender with factors such as financial status, age, disability etc., that impede citizens’ access to health services. Women of lower means, elementary school graduates, mothers, immigrants or refugees, and the elderly are those who face more unmet needs and barriers in accessing primary health care. Quality primary health care structures can have important and long-term benefits if they are supported and expanded to meet the needs of all citizens, including the needs of women and their diverse social roles.
