Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The Article furnished to the Journal of the Hellenic Social Policy Association is an original work, it has not been published previously, nor is it under consideration for publication elsewhere, either in print or in electronic form.
  • To the best of my knowledge the Article does not defame any person, does not invade the privacy of any person, and does not in any other manner infringe upon the rights of any person.
  • The Article does not in any way violate intellectual property rights of third parties. Wherever permission is required, I have obtained it from the copyright holder.
  • I have read and I accept the Copyright Policy and have prepared the manuscript according to the Author Guidelines of the Journal.
  • I grant to the Journal of the Hellenic Social Policy Association a royalty‐free, worldwide nonexclusive license perform all necessary actions to publish first the article in an issue of the Journal.
  • I retain ownership and/or I am the lawful right-holder of all rights under copyright in the Article, and I reserve all right not expressly granted in this  Agreement
  • In any case of re‐publication of the Article, the Journal of the Hellenic Social Policy Association should require permission by the Author.
  • I have the full power and authority to provide the warranties and agree to the license granted by virtue of verifying all the above statements.
  • The Journal reserves the right to further license the Article to any third party in order to be further used, distributed or communicated to the public by any means, including the Internet or other electronic communications.

Author Guidelines

Articles will be submitted only electronically via the journal’s webpage. We note that your registration as an AUTHOR is required for submission of your article.

Guidelines for authors

  1. 1.      General information

The manuscript must be written using a word processing software and sent as a word or rtf file online to the following e-mail address: info@eekp.gr. The text should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt with 1.5 line spacing and fully justified. The length of the manuscript should range from 6,000 to 9,000 words (including footnotes, references, annexes, etc.).

The first page of the document must include the following:

  1. HELLENIC SOCIAL POLICY ASSOCIATION (14pt, capital letters, centered).
  2. JOURNAL OF SOCIAL POLICY, centered.
  3. A concise and informative article TITLE (capitals Times New Roman, 14pt, bold).
  4. Names of the author(s) (after the title in lowercase Times New Roman 14pt, bold).
  5. Affiliation(s) of the author(s) (12pt, lowercase, centered).
  6. A concise and factual Abstract is required of 100-150 words in Greek and English (12pt, lowercase, in one paragraph).

Footnotes should be at the end of each page, numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript and built automatically with the word processor used.

Please number the sections as described below:

Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections (numbered 1, 2, etc.). Subsections should be numbered 1.1, 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering). Any subsection may be given a brief heading and each heading should appear on its own separate line.

  1. Sections: 14pt, lowercase, in bold.
  2. Subsections: 12pt, lowercase, in bold.

If there are formulas in the manuscript please follow continuous numbering (1), (2), etc. on the right-hand side of each formula (the use of Math Type is recommended).

Emphasis in the text should be given using italics. Highlighted words (bold) can only be used in the titles of sections and subsections.

The margins of each page should be according to the default word processing software, i.e. top and bottom margins of A4 page should be approximately 2.54 cm and left and right margins should be about 3,18 cm. The above figures are approximate.

Note moreover that:

  • The space between the rows (spacing) should be 1.5.
  • There is a blank line between paragraphs.
  • The alignment of the manuscript is justified (fully aligned left and right).
  • The pages are numbered at the bottom and aligned in the center.

 

2. Tables-Charts

  • Tables and Figures must have continuous numbering (e.g. Table 1, Table 2, etc. or Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.) and placed in the body of text.
  • The titles of tables and figures are written with 10pt lettering on top of the table or chart with a center alignment. Sources are placed at the bottom of the corresponding diagram or table with full alignment (10pt).
