Abstract
The present research is concerned with the viewpoints of male and female students about education. They attend Pedagogical and Teaching Faculties and are also members of “Golden Dawn”. This is a part of a larger overall investigation on educational issues in the manner they are perceived by the extreme right wing and especially by the parliamentary party of “Golden Dawn”.
Semi-constructed interviews were used to explore the “Golden Dawn” members’ educational standpoints about the educational structure and content. Focus was placed on the emergence of a complex educational environment which consists of systems, carriers, legislation and instruction according to their interpretations. Sample selection was a good opportunity to study the political and social content which is formed about education. Besides, certain issues such as the individuals’ self-realization through education, education as social settlement, opportunities structures, social classes’ reproduction and social mobility were also explored. Viewpoints on educational issues in combination with standpoints about the political conditions interweaved with the meaning of crisis were utilized. Their experience in education in association with their integration into the category of the “youngster” and their active participation in the extreme right wing were conducive to unfolding shaped beliefs of their “complex” truth, through the linguistic code, eventually excuses their integration into the extreme right formation.
