Το ολοήμερο δημοτικό σχολείο. Κριτική αποτίμηση ενός θεσμού
Abstract
This article refers both to the creation and development of the institution of all-day primary education and to the extent to which it has contributed to gender equality by enabling mothers to actively claim their role in the labor market. For mothers, as active subjects of society, it is often difficult to reconcile family and professional life, so they are excluded from work. For this reason, this educational institution is placed in the context of the policy of reconciling family and professional life in order to facilitate their integration into the labor market. The article critically evaluates the implementation process of the all-day elementary school, which was included in the National Action Plans for Employment to allow mothers to make the most of their children’s time at school, extending their schooling while meeting their professional obligations. Practice has shown that the institution supports the participation of mothers in the labor force, but without losing its impact on the division of time between family and professional life.
